Paging Norvern Monkeys - route advice

I'm planning a ride from Lincolnshire up to Richmond to visit the
Altberg shop. I don't really fancy the section on the A1 from
Dishforth to Catterick. Anybody recommend some good biking routes in
Why this bit - which is not as boring as the vast swathes of A1(M)
you'll have already trudged along?
Yebbut I won't have. I'll probably be going over t'umber bridge then
up and across.

that area?
By the secret and arcane art of opening a map book, the A6108 from
Ripon looks nice and squiggly.
That was one of the routes I considered. What I really wanted was
somebody who'd actually ridden the roads to give me suggestions - like
Pip frinstance.
Depends what sort of bike your on, but this lane runs from Hawes, not
far from Richmond.

Loads of trail bikers around, we went in Land Rovers & it was ace.

If not on a trailie, loads of great roads round there, come off the A1
at Boroughbridge (couple of junctions after the A59 Harrogate) & have
fun. You can criss-cross the A1, just open a map.
The Herman Munster trail is quite nice.
and mine have started leaking. Both sides.
My Daytona RoadStar GTXs are absolutely leak proof 5 years and 60K miles
on...and they look good.
