The broadband question (season 7, episode 234)

I'm looking for a broadband supplier. All I want is connectivity, cos
I get email, news etc etc elsewhere. I've no idea what monthly
bandwidth allowance I need, but I'm guessing I'm not a light user.

So, who's good, and who's cheap? A brief web-search suggests that most
ISPs are over £20 a month for medium usage - is this really what
everyone is paying?
Yeah, I would probably have gone straight to Blueyonder, as I had TV,
phone and broadband from them in my last house. Unfortunately, they
don't cover where I live now.
Probably
Bizarrely, although I live less than 2 miles from my previous place,
there's no cable in this road.
So have you got your PC-based HD/DVD system to control a Sky box then?
Or do you only use it for terrestrial TV?
as I said:

If you believe the ratings, and what else is there
rating almost as highly as Zen but a low cost service

Home S package
I'm a light user, so probably not much help. I pay ukp16 with Nildram.
If I were starting afresh I'd also consider Zen lite for a couple of
quid more. And I'd check here

to see who is and will be offering LLU at your exchange, like Be.
Taking the advice on ADSLguide I recently switched to Vispa in
Manchester. Can't fault them so far and you get straight through to a
techie who really knows what he's[1] talking about.

1. There may be some shes, too, but both of the ones I've talked to are men.
