Sheepskin arrived today , as promised . Wool is very dense , and as
advertised for length at abt 3/4" . The skin is fully finished on the back
side . I'm not sure if it was dyed or is naturally black , but the color is

Thanks for posting the follow-up. Man, the dude that sold you the sheep
skin sure has a wide assortment of other leather hides too.

I 've seen all kinds of hides and skins in my search . This guy had the
best looking skins and his prices were reasonable . Chuck Eaves looked at a
skin at the local Tandy store . It was hard and stiff , an ugly orange color
, and they wanted 10 bucks a foot for it , a total of a hundred bucks .
This was a good deal , I have enough left for another (smaller) seat .
And it's already promised ...

I pulled the trigger on another one of his hides.
I went for something a little thicker that the one you got cuz my, um,
'seat' is bigger than yours (Yeah, OK, I'm a fat ass, I admit it).
The thicker hide wasn't available in black, so I had to settle for a
gold dye job.
Looking forward to better comfort on long rides.
