RMD Baja Trip, Fall '07
|
Starting a new thread.
Talk to me.
November '07? Fill up my van & trailer with bikes &
riders and we'll pull an all nighter to drive from CO to
Mexicali.
|
Hmmm. 22-23 hours to you from me. My plan might
be to ship bike to Ralls and fly to L.A. I either need
Ralls to sign up or need to figure out a rental
there. This plays into:
|
Well? What'd he say? Were ya able to talk him into it?
|
|
Good luck. Ralls used to flatly refuse to cross the border even
before Danny Hamel died.
|
Ya know, I sorta kinda remembered something about
him saying that but couldn't remember if it was true.
I'll call him tonight anyway.
And who the heck are you so I can abuse you to him?
|
I'm All Night Doug. When you don't get the bike in the van until 2AM,
you have to drive all night to get to the mojave.

Go fast. Take chances.

Option #1 is to cross the border with just the bikes.
|
That might make it easier for me. Taking a rental van
across sounds bad. Taking a borrowed truck sounds
worse. Maybe meet you in Mexicali either way???
|
It looks like a task for HellSickle. Camping appears to
be something that you should be prepared for. A bedroll
& small tent (to keep out the scorpions).
Option #2 would be having Amy the Wonderwife sag for
us. Then we could ride our tiny tank bikes, travel lite, and
tackle the deep sandy whoops.
|
Has merit. Would she be safe alone out there? Roads
she'd need to use paved and services along them? I have
no clue about any of that.
Go fast. Take chances.

We don't stop riding because we get old, we get old because we stop riding.
