TTR125 DRZ125 KLX125 comparison

Looking for something like one of these bikes for my daughter/wife to
share (5'4"). The Honda entry into this market is probably the best
bike, but is also considerably heavier than the others. I was looking
at the TTR125L or LE, but it still seems a hair short. I haven't
looked at the Suz/Kaw entries into this market, primarily because I
didn't know they even existed until a week ago. Anyone know how they
compare in price (they seem a little cheaper), ergos, reliability,
etc.? Any other suggestions for an extremely light, easy to ride woods
girl-mount?
Hey Jay,
Make sure you check out the TTR230. Congrats on the scar renewal
service.

The smartest bike of the three by far is the klx125 - the street legal
version. Why? Because your daughter/you can ride the bike in the
streets. It is pretty light although naturally a bit heavier than the
pure dirt version. But the upside of being able to go anywhere with that
machine is simply too good. I came close to buying one but the money
required to make it 'man fun' would be too much (in dough and time) so I
opted for a 400 instead. But for a new rider that is simply a wonderful
machine. The TTR is one ugly bike. The klx125 looks exactly like a mx
bike, including the front forks. Sure it costs a bit more than the
others but keep in mind you're also getting a full fledged vehicle along
with a fun trail machine.
Oh did I mention it has 6 gears?
