Newport Pagnell
Just heard on Radio 4
"Police said that when they entered Newport Pagnell service station they
were faced with a scene of complete devastation"
Why do they use such phrases? The place is still there although a coach
has tippped over. That is not a scene of complete devastation - it's a
crash site.
ukrm evening ride out anyone?
are you taking a socket set into work tomorrow?
Sorry but that's just gone past the window at supersonic speed.
I'll be lucky to get to work the way things are panning out at present.
You could always do a spot of gardening, like I'm being paid to do...
I resigned from the company today too. looks like I'm going to be kept
I didn't resign, but did start in a completely different job yesterday,
working for the same boss I worked for a couple of bosses back.
No pay rise, but (in theory) I'll get fewer headaches as I have no
direct team to look after this time, but get.. manager... in the job
title all the same.
I almost feel dirty.
Don't worry - once you have the compulsory lobotomies the feeling soon
passes off..
to the full three months. this is despite only being 2 days into the
job.
to clarify, I used to work in one department but transferred into
another but kept the old work until they find a replacement.
my ex-boss is off sick so the replacement is going to be delayed for a
while. meanwhile my new dept will be paying for me but not ever
getting any work out of me.
still, the 9.2K pay rise will be nice when I eventually start. any
UKRMers around Hammersmith? I'll only be in that office for 2 days a
week but i'm sure could organise beers.
So who will you be working for now?
Sounds good BTW!
My boss made it very clear today that I am expected to be in the office.
No excuses permitted and given my knowledge of the transport network I
probably have least excuse.
I'm trying my best to wake up late and claim "sheer weight of traffic"
as a reason to WFH :)
No change there then.
