Go speedy froggies
Only 5mph off the maglev record.
Video clip.
Impressive. The shot from the tail is the best bit.
Hmm - pretty good view but I prefer the shot of it passing under the
bridge.
Pah! Rubbish.
See my world (hiqh quality):
See my world all blurry:

I have to say it is an amazing achievement but then it's no surprise
given the prestige attached to the whole TGV concept / system by the
French government.
Last week, they did a speed test of 549kph, but it's nice to know that
they've bettered that. It's not a speed that they'll use every day on
the new line to Strasbourg from Paris though, as it's very expensive to
run at speeds like that all the time (as you well know).
It's always nice to see the French in their constant competition with
the Japanese too.

Pretty amazing, I thought - 350+ mph in something weighing many many
tonnes.
Those TGV tracks very often run alongside the peage. Imagine tooting
along the fast lane at 100+ only to be overtaken by a train going
three times as fast.
pretty impressive really, given the age of the TGV concept.
If only they ran them between Maidenhead and Tower Hill, I'd be
laughing...
How nice to see the trainspotters emerging from their closets.
I suspect the acceleration and deceleration times are significant.

Extreme trainsurfing anyone ?
I guess you'd need better vacuum cups than the £6.99 ones in the local
DIY store.
crashing, more like, I'd have thought.
