Dumb question

I've got stuff on my iPod that, due to an accidental deletion, isn't on
my hard drive anymore.

How do I get said MP3 tracks back off the iPod onto the laptop?
Worked fine for me to retrieve tracks as MP3s.
Many thanks Ant, I'll give it a go.
As it goes, if you use the iPod as a disk drive, you can access all the
stuff and drag them over to the PC.

The only problem is the naming convention used by Apple. It makes no
sense at all and you'll find files with names like AZNE.mp3, 1MFHG.mp3,
12KG.mp4. Get the idea?
Download anapod explorer - you should be able to get the files back off
As it goes, it could be that I saw the filename system like this
through Anapod. Anapod is pretty good at managing iPod stuff.
I use the Notmad for my Zen Xtra. Great piece of kit. I presume that
anapod is of the same quality as notmad.

the ipod, AFAIK
With something like Tag & Rename you can read the MP3 tags and rename
the files automatically.
Not particularly helpful... but there is a reason apple tell you to back
up your music...

I'm quite anal about burning a copy to CD whenever I buy something on
iTunes.
