Ok, here are some pic of my tires:
Upon closer inspection I think I do need a new rear. Rats.

If it were me, I'd just get a whole new set and make it one less thing to
worry about. You probably could get away with what you've got, but I
wouldn't want to be wondering.
If you choose to run these tires, you have to make the mental note on every
lap that you've got shagged tires and you're therefore limited in the
potential of what your bike can do. Forgetting that your tires are old could
be catastrophic.

I pinged the track organizer about track side tire vendors. He said
Buell was handling that but he wasn't sure. He said he would get back
to me later today. He also said that if tires at the track are
available they'll probably be Pirellis.

I've liked the Pirelli Diablos I've used. They are perfectly suited for
combined street/track duty. If I had to buy tires for a track day, they'd be
my top choice.

I am going to call around today to see if I can get new tires mounted
tomorrow locally. I really don't care about the cost, it is just the
hassle of getting tires mounted.

There are things you can skimp on. There are things you can skimp on AFTER
you know how they behave, and are willing to accept the risk when you might
misjudge.
First time out? Eliminating the possibility of falling down because of old
tires is like priority 1 on trackdays. Expensive yes, but cheaper than
fixing the bike or body.
Get new tires. Keep the old ones.
The next time you are thinking about riding cross country and are getting
low, front or rear, use one of the old ones.

Looks like you have a pretty good flat spot. Some track day
organizers are sticklers about such things.
