OT:Buy some Karma?

A friend sent this link to me, apparently you can find a business which is
looking for a loan (maybe $500) and you can donate $20 or more. They pay
the loan back and you can track their payments and success and you can
communicate via email. Once it’s paid off you can keep your money or loan
to another entrepreneur. So far they have had 100% pay back on all the
loans and now there are developing businesses and some economic growth in
these needy communities.

Smells fishy.

Anyone else heard anything
Would be nice if it wasn't for once
I recall seeing something about a legitimate scheme like this a couple of
years ago. Whether this one is on the straight and narrow I don't know,
but there's a chance it is.
I saw this (or something similar) reported in the Independent at the
weekend.

peek at the site.
If it's the Grameen Bank, then it's perfectly legit, and the founder
recently picked up a Nobel prize.
Oh yeah - I heard him interviewed on the business program on R4 a week
or too back. He basically invented the micro-credit model.
they have something like a 98% pay-back rate, from some of the poorest
women in the world - you can understand why the Nobel commission were
impressed.
