October trackdays

A reasonable proposition, or too likely to be cold and wet? Discuss.
Depends on where in the country you'll be.
Or on what country you'll be in.

You live in England. You've lived in England all your life (AFAIK).
You know as much as anyone whether it's likely to be wet on a random
day in October, FFS!
I what the weather's likely to do, but I've never done a trackday in
October, so I've got no experience of how warm (or not) the track's
likely to be, etc.

Spare wheels with wets is the answer, you know.
... to go on my non-existent track bike, of course.

There's a plan in that direction, but it's taking some time to organise.

If I talk myself into it, I'll be doing Croft on 4th October. Any other
With whom?
HotTrax

Well I might have, but in the apparent absence of trackdays in October
at Croft I'm down for Cadwell on Thursday instead.
I'll be at Cadwell Thu 4th Oct.
Too far away for mid-week. Some of us have to pretend to work for a
living, you know!
That'll be wet every day of the year let alone October!
I might get out next month, maybe a Brands day or evening
depending on what the docs say tomorrow.

takers?
Sorry, no. No holiday left, and anyway, I'm racing in the world
famous Quatre Heures du Jurby Airfield endurance event on the 7th Oct.

Anyone fancy a weekend away in the Isle of Man? People are always
needed to help spanner, marshal, etc, and such people always get
filled full of beer. Ogden loved it last year. confirmation>

Same arrangements as last year?
Probably not. The recent launch of a "Gloucester International
Airport" to "Isle of Man" service by manx2.com
means I'll prolly fly out Friday evening and back Sunday evening. I
Sorry, I meant out Friday evening and back Monday morning
It's an understandable mistake. The S-u-n-d-a-y- -e-v-e-n-i-n-g keys
are *so* close to the M-o-n-d-a-y- -m-o-r-n-i-n-g keys, after all.
Problem Existed Between Ears of User.
Ah-hah! Right, in that case I'd go for Saturday evening to Monday
morning. Assuming there'll be some drinking on the Sunday evening as
well, of course.

I'll email you, once I've had a chance to discuss it with my
Appointments Secretary.

have about 1 1/2 days holiday left, which I need to keep back for
emergencies.
Hang on... that timetable says flights to Gloucester leave at 15:00 on a
Sunday. What time's the race?

But the fare's pretty good (£59 quid each way), so you're welcome to
come over to my place and then catch the plane with me. It's a fab
little 19 seater with two propellers.
Yep. Calendar looks clear, too.
Could someone bring my beemer back from the airport car park please.
I'll almost certainly be over, it clashes with my bosses 50th birthday
party and Adie's away somewhere sunny so I've nothing better to do.
Hmmm... tempting. Ferry looks a possibility. When would I need to be
there by, and when would I need to stay until? Accommodation provided,
Latest Saturday evening, otherwise when would we fill you full of
beer?
I'm going to a gig on the Friday, so I wouldn't be able to get there
until Saturday anyway. Looking at the timetable, that'd mean getting
there ~17:45.

Then for getting home, depending on what time the race finishes, it'd
either be an evening ferry on Sunday (and a late-night cross-country
sprint to get home to bed) or early morning Monday.

or would I need to sort it out myself?
If you're going to marshal or spanner (and why else would you come),
accomodation will be found, for minimal cost.
Excellent. I've got my own orange overalls, too.

I shall give it some serious consideration...
PAHND!

But no, not this time, much as I enjoyed t'other week.
Nah, but I was toying with the idea of taking the R1 to Snetterton.
