OT: recommendations for pubs/restaurants near Swindon

Anyone know of any decent (ie not too expensive) pubs or restaurants
near Swindon that have an outside area/pub garden?

Our current favourite is the Calley Arms in Hodson -
0290
The menu isn't very extensive, but what there is has always been
superb.

Yes agreed on that - the seemingly strange combination of black
pudding,pears and chilli sauce worked very well

Another one that's higly recommended is here:
0420 but I can't remember what it's called.
Probably the best for variety (including kangaroo, aligator etc) &
outstanding food is the Three Crowns in Brinkworth:
4355
Be warned - it's very, very popular & you can't book, so get there
early if you fancy trying it on a weekend evening.
Finally the White Horse in Minety has a very good reputation, but I've
never tried it. Bear rates it highly iirc.

This one I have tried - so I'll recommend it back to you. It's also on
a superb biking road.
