If you think DEER are a problem .....
No - THIS is a problem !!!!
Odd. Where are its wings?
That's a Bison, that's why there are no wings. You have to find the
ones in NY for wings...
Applebees. That's why it's walking.
At least the skies are not cloudy all day...
Funny you mention that... I have all breeds of deer AND those big bison. Granted
livestock are a bigger threat than the bison.
And you get free roaming minutes .....
Oh yes.
Years ago I was hotfooting it through Wind Cave State Park (near
Custer), and around a tight left curve encountered one of those in the
same position as shown in the above photo. Unlike those fellas, I didn't
have time to stop (my own fault), so I went behind his tail. My shoulder
was only a foot or so from that tail.
You only have to worry about being a foot from that tail if the tail
starts to lift up.....
:-)
True, especially for the implied reason. But those tails, though
short, are pretty hefty, and I would not have wanted a whack on any body
part (mine) by the tail.
It was a scary experience!
For some reason, I started thinking about rare nickels.
For some reason this reminds me of roller skates
and Roger Miller.
No problem at all . . . IF you're riding at a safe speed . . . .
Heck any speed below DoD nominal is safe if you know how to look for the deer. I
have acurately predicted a mooses entrance onto the road whilst going
70mph...granted I was expecting either white tail or wapati. Instead I got the
booby prized the biggest deer in NA, a moose cow. No big deal ime. Now the herd
of 25 wapati on a snow/ice covered road...I predicted accuratly but it was still
a sphincter clenching moment as it was A) dark B) curved and C) I was in an SUV.
I mean, when's the last time one of those JUMPed out and whack'd into
the side of your vehicle??
Never...though I've watched an Irish Setter center punch and VW bug. 8^) Neither
was hurt even though both were going 30mph.
pooder was here -- Bambi whack'd into the side of my xB in January
OWWW! But I feel your pain.
