Scottish B&B / Hotel

Anybody got a recommendation for a decent B&B or hotel in Scotland?
Wow, it's a big Country you know!
I know, but as I've no specific area (other than "Scotland") it doesn't
really matter too much.

Pref somewhere bike friendly with good roads.
I went to the Aultguish Inn, about halfway between Inverness and Ullapool,
last summer. Not a bad little place and the road past it is one of my
favourite fast roads.
I've used this place near Fort William
Coo, that looks nice. Thanks!

The patron, Andrew, is a professional landscape photographer so knows many
good routes. He was riding a Z1000 when I was there.

A pub has opened in the village since I used it. Apparently it's very good
according to some friends that visited recently.

Mrs Patron is a yank and has the curious first name of Randi.
The Grand Hotel in Lerwick is a personal favourite of mine.
Stayed here the other week after doing LEJoG.

Excellent food service etc. Nice hoon from there to Braemar over Glenshee or
vice-versa
talking of which, unless I've missed something, I haven't seen any
reports posted about LEJoG. Or are you saving your tales until EOSM?
You cannot get much better than Skye
Crikey, small world. I stayed there once, probably 20 years ago - it
wasn't run by bikers then but was OK, AFAICR.
I don't know if the proprieters are still friends of BGN but it is
just as pink as it ever was.
Perthshire is my favourite. I've justed booked a night here:

3 or 4 other decent hotels over the bridge in nearby Dunkeld as well.A
lot of cheap (and good) B+Bs in the area too.

Lovely place to stay, decent pub next door (hotel bars are too posh for
my liking), I dont know about bike friendly, but they have a large rear
yard, I'm sure they would let you park up there, though the chance of
the bike being nicked is pretty low in that area.

Plenty of up and down and twisty roads around there. No good if you are a
speed freak, Tayside Police seem to be a bit keen on catching speeders
on the 'A' roads.
Alan.
