Has the R1 ever won an AMA superbike race?
|
Has the R1 ever won an AMA superbike race? Any year?
|
No. The rider wins the race.
|
Very clever. Let's see him win it on foot then.
|
Racers have won races by pushing their motorcycle (or car) across the
start/finish line after it ran out of gas.
|
So if the rider is the one who wins the race, wouldn't it be sufficient
for the rider to cross the finish line? ;)
|
No. The rider has to somehow manage to get his motorcycle across the finish
line.
|
Haha I know this! I was just being a smartass. ;)

I don't think so, but they've won SuperStock races.
I think that Yamaha has only had a factory team in Superbike for a year or
two.
The R1 came out in '98 if I am not mistaken.
Back then Superbike was 750, so it wasn't eligible. They ran the R7.
I don't recall a factory effort in Superbike on the R1 prior to these past
few seasons.
So to answer your question. I'm not sure, but I don't think so.
