decent jeans for motorcycling

Has anyone got any recommendations for some hard wearing jeans suitable
for motorcycle riding?

I'm used to buying fashion jeans from topman / burton but I can't see
these standing up to much!
No denim jeans are going to offer anything significant[1] in the way
of protection, so you might as well go with your normal choice.

Debenhams do some wrangler jeans which look a bit better.
Better than 'Fashion Jeans" I suppose.
Tesco Value Jeans, they perform better than some very expensive flashy
looking leathers in laboratory testing too.

Anyone got any suggestions?
Take a look at the thread: "FA: Giali reinforced denim jackets & jeans"
Levis always did it for me, but they do wear out quite quickly in a
tarmac interface scenarion.

[1] I.e. no real protection at all.

^^^^
Please take care of that yourself, next time.
Hi - I know its not very good protection compared with armoured leather
but just wondered which are the best ones I can get as I want to wear
jeans and only ride a slow 125cc!
They're not just "not very good protection compared with armoured
leather", they're scarcely better than shorts. You will get almost no
appreciable protection from ordinary denim jeans.

I wouldn't let that stop you - I don't always wear leathers by any means -
but don't kid yourself that one brand of jeans is better than another.
Leather ones. With armour.[1]

If you mean denim or similar, Mr Varnsferry will be along shortly with
some figures that might make you think twice. Or maybe not, in which
case, Levi is as good as Asda as M&S as Wrangler etc.

[1] awaits safety nazi comments
O'Neill board shorts. They'll protect you so well that people will
assume you were wearing leather trousers when you came off. Shame about
the tshirt, mind...
Kevlar lined debim jeans. About 90 quid a pair.

Nowhere near as good as leather in the protection stakes but better
than levi/wrangler/burton et al
I've got a pair of these, comfy, hard wearing? They seem to be, yes.
All depends on the make of leathers, see my earlier post to this thread.
I bought a pair of Hood Jeans. They're like normal jeans with Kevlar[1]
weave inside the legs. There seems to be quite a lot of it and they
were a decent price, appear to be hard wearing and don't look any
different to 'normal' denim on the outside.

[1] Or something quite like that
Black ones - double black, not those half-hearted attempts at black which
are white on the inside. And preferably with a 501 patch on the back.
Buy whatever looks fashionable. Jeans won't protect you in a get off.

He's only riding a 125 that won't do more than 60, remember. Stop
getting all safety nazi - if he wants to wear jeans that's his choice.
How does the above ^^^ differ from this:
One of them is me saying summat, t'other is someone else. World of
difference, you see?

If you want protection, buy leathers or purpose made textile trousers
with padding and armor.
Leather trousers were things only worn by racers or wannabe racers
when I wer' lad.
