Surface Dressing

Just a warning to anyone taking a run into mid or west Wales over the
next few weeks.... the surface dressing gangs are out in force on the B
and unclassified roads and they appear to be throwing far too much of
the stuff down.

Just what is the point in surface dressing anyway? - in this weather all
that'll happen is that it'll end up in neat piles down both edges and
the middle of the road.
It's cheap.

I was out in the Brecon Beacons on Friday. I was surprised to see quite a
few roads resurfaced with decent tarmac, even the minor road that goes from
the Brecon Cattle Market roundabout towards Heol Senni.

Some of the twistier bends on the trunk roads seem to have Shellgrip now. I
guess they have used the money not wasted on road salt for other "road
safety" measures.
