Interest rates heading for 8.25% within 2 years is my guess
|
Sweet. Hopefully it'll make property prices drop a bit.

Seeing as you seem to be completely uninformed on every other subject,
I hope you'll excuse me if I don't take your advice on financial
matters.

..back down to 5% within 18 months.

It won't happen. Watch the ECB ?-denominated marginal-loan rate. If the BoE
diverges too far from that, Euroland banks will start to take UK mortgage
business. The £/? cross-rate has been amazingly constant, so there's very
little currency risk on either side and hedging, if even necessary, would be
very cheap. Granted, if there's a Europe-wide crash we could see £ and ?
rates over 8%, but it won't happen otherwise.

Dunno about you, but that definitely meets my definition of major
crisis.
|
well, yes - it's not completely out of the question.

We'll just have to remove him from office if he does that. I'm sure
the colonials will rush forward to help in another "justifiable war".
