Revvin' Kevin slams the door on Rossi...

Schwantz' comment on Valencia in CN:

"You say that in many of the scenarios that I was asked about, one was
what about Rossi. He never really had to race for a championship. It's
been race, by race, by race, but by the time that the real pressure
comes up at the end of the season he's already won them. Was it a real
mistake as far as tire choice? Was it just Valentino couldn't find his
rhythm and he was too worried about Nicky getting away? I haven't talked
to either of them, so I don't really know what's going on. All I know is
I talked to the Suzuki guys who were right behind him and they said he
was making a lot of mistakes. So it just shows he's human."
There's more there than that. What Kevin is suggesting is that Rossi
cracked under the pressure, was too anxious to catch Hayden, and was
making mistakes that eventually led to him crashing out. Given that some
people have the opinion that Rossi not being able to handle the pressure
of a real championship fight is just laughable, that's something to say.
For instance, Pablo always blames pressure for any rider failure, it
seems, but of course excused Rossi on that score, and now there's all
this "bike failure" stuff being cooked up around here now. People ought
to think about and accept the very real possibility that Rossi f*cked up
big time, simply cracking under the pressure of a real deciding "put up
or shut up" race. That's what Kev seems to be implying.
