I've booked my ferry ticket - anyone else going?

Not sure, but if I decide to go, I'll head over the Channel on Friday
and return on Monday.

Outline plan atm involves a Ural, a Portsmouth-Le Havre ferry on Friday
night, a cross-country chunter to arrive at Maroilles in time for lunch, and
the usual Monday return. And probably the sprog in the chair.

I hope you didn't have any plans for a cabin as it looks rather full on
Friday night.

I don't believe there are actually any cabins on LDLines. I've never seen
any available when booking. Most people seem to sleep on the floor. I'd use

course, that's daytime and hardly required.

them again as my lad lives in Portsmouth, so the extra slog to Dover is a
PITA. The cost saving over Brittany Ferries is substantial, so slumming it
in cattle class is bearable. The ferry always seems to be late leaving
Pompey but gets into LeH on time. I guess they feel that a 0030 departure
time will put people off...
Also, get your food/drink on shore. Prices on the boat are quite high,
especially drinks. There's a McPub just outside the port, next to the
Travelodge. Full of screaming kids though. Better to nip onto London Rd in
North End where you will find a Wetherspoons and a variety of other
eateries.

Nothing booked yet, but I'd rather spend my time trundling the outfit along
the byways of France than the M4/M25/M20 etc.

The dates on the website look a bit squiffy - I'm arriving Saturday
morning, returning Monday.

I'm going to be in Dorset that weekend[1], which is a pity, as I'd
like to have done Chimay.

Yep, I'll be taking the 400 Four. Usual thing: out Friday, Friday
night hotel en route somewhere, back Sunday afternoon.
Does anyone want me to sort out a hotel booking for them on Friday?

I'm very tempted, but I'm going to wait until nearer the time to decide.

I'm extremely tempted, but I don't (yet) have any camping gear at all,
let alone any way of strapping it to the bike.

Me too, for old times sake. Logistically it's going to be a bit of a
PITA though.

I've talked myself into it, but subject to a couple of conditions which
need to be resolved first.
I'm planning on getting a Friday morning tunnel crossing, and going
straight to Chimay to find a prime tent location.
