Bike hauler

There was something on Ebay called a Moto Carrier. It
attaches to a receiver hitch. Just the front wheel of the bike is off
the ground. It looks a bit like this:
It might be a bit tough to back up with a bike hooked on to one
of those. It would be hard to see which way the bike is backing.

For the $575 the site listed wanted you could buy a used utility trailer and

For way less than that you cany buy a brand new heavy duty trailer from
Harbor Freight.
Any idea how much weight is on that front wheel holder? Although it will
TOW much more weight on wheels, a hitch is frequently limited to something
like 200# or so of tongue weight. Seems like it would have to be a pretty
beefy hitch to support half the weight of a big street bike. Might be a
reasonable way to get a dirt bike somewhere.

The Ebay version is under $200, plus $ for options. They
claim to have towed a $35K custom Fatboy HD with it. It might be
easier to store one of these gizmos and possibly they would be a little
handier. Link here if you're curious:
I've seen a few carriers that attach to the receiver hitch with the
bike sitting crosswise on the carrier. There are a few farmers around
here with similar things for their ATVs. I haven't had a chance to ask
them how those work.

I suppose it could work. I'd remove the chain so you don't wear out
your transmission. On many bikes, if the engine isn't running, no oil
is being fed to the gears....
