Bike shop loaners.......

You guys/gals that take your bike to the local dealer (thats a
motorcycle dealer) for servicing.......do you get a 'loaner' bike to
ride around on for the day?
You can get one if you have the right dealer and they have a free demo bike
doing nothing. Asking in advance helps too.

The reason I ask is my mate takes his bike to Auckland for servicing
(400 odd km's) as there is no 'local' dealer for KTM's. He dropped his
SuperDuke off at the shop and was given a KTM Motard 640 for the
day......the previous time he got a KTM 990 Adventure......and when he
got back, he told me if I go with him next time, he's organised an XB
Buell and an Aprilia Falco for a day. I think it would be worth the
service costs (quoted $650 for a 50,000km service) just to get on these
bikes for a day! There are some awesome roads up there.......

There is a $5k insurance premium if I bin it......

Is this unique?
Bow Cycle here in Cowtown offers courtesy vehicles but I am not sure
you'd want to be taking these for a spirited ride along a challenging
road.

Might be fun for a putt around town though.
Any day on two wheels is a good day......I think we'd be lethal on a
pair of them.....It would be a great test of skills and picking the
right line.
No, but it's rare and getting rarer.
