Bike cleaning chemicals.

Even though I try to keep the gixxer clean there is some gunge
building up that I CANNOT remove. What will do it?
Get Hog to come and stare at the dirt. That'll shift it. Alternatively
he could shout at it - just as effective.
Or read it his political theory posts from ukrm, that'll scare it off.
TFR. (raffic Film Remover). Spray on, leave it ten minutes, rinse off.
Amphetamine sulphate and a toothbrush plus mild solvents.
Mum spit.

Mum spit will get *anything* off.
You say that like it's a bad thing.
I've never had anything on my wheels that WD40 wouldn't shift.

What gunge? Inside the white wheels mostly, and over the brake
calipers. Brake dust built up into layers I guess.

I have used two different alloy wheel cleaners, (Simoniz and Mer), car
wash, soap, degreasers, petrol, cola and 'bike cleaner'. There are
still black smears on the forward edge of the wheel spokes and black
dots of various sizes all over the inside of the wheel.

The front is much more effected than the back, reinforcing my brake
dust theory.

I've considered more severe products such as caustic soda or oven
cleaner but I don't want to do any damage. Would steam do it? I
don't have access to a vehicle steam cleaner but I could pipe steam
from a wallpaper stripper.
Steam and Suzuki don't really go together.

Anyone got a clue to a good way of getting the wheels back to nice
shiney white? Toothpaste and an old toothbrush... hmmm.
Try cheap baby wipes. They seem to dissolve almost anything, and work
really well at getting grease and oil off things.
Wonder wheels, but be careful. Dont let it dry & use the brush quite
hard.
I use this on my alloy rims:

but as Krusty said WD40 will clean painted rims as well as anything.
