Not a bike, but whats a 2004 magna wagon like?
|
My wife is interested in a 2004 Magna wagon, I think its a TL model not a
TW.
it was owned by Tupperware and being sold by a local dealer in the country,
so a little bit higher prices than city prices.
it has 64,000km on it, I assume full service history, has all the features,
cruise control and climate control. He is asking 15990 on it.
I took it for a drive, and it drove well, no noises, trany went from d to r
several times with out complaining (that method still works for electronic
autos nowdays?)
Has a few scratches/stone chips on the nose, side skirts, tail, a small
crack in the plastic in the boot, obviously Tupperware lady was a bit
careless with things in the boot.
what are the things to look out for, recon if I offered 15k it be an ok
deal? im sure I could save a grand or two by travelling, but I cant be
stuffed.

My experience with Magnas (I've had a few) has been excellent. Build
quality, longevity, comfort, service etc are all very acceptable.
Resale value is RS, but that means you get to buy a very good second
hand vehicle very cheaply.

thoughts, opinions, user reviews etc?
|
The g/f has the same Magna and her dad has one a couple of years
older. They're good, solid well built and reliable. Not an exciting
car to drive (whitegoods on wheels) but secondhand they're great
value. $15K sounds a bit high I'd offer 13 or 14. Never understood why
the resale value was poor - the older ones hold together better than
the Fords and Holdens as far as I can see.
You could do a lot worse in a family car.

I have to agree ,I had a 97 3litre V6 , it was an x government car
,well looked after and serviced regularly .It took us all over the
country .A guy two blocks away bought mine ,4 years ago he still has it
and its still going strong.
Assuming you buy it and have it at these KLms.
100,000Klms you need to change timing belt ,do the water pump while you
are at it .
Replace thermostat at 90,000klms ,this is a must do.
