ot: Foo Fighters - Hyde Park

Anyone from here going?
Eddie and Mrs. Eddie are there - keep your eyes open and you're sure to spot
them.
My word, they've come a long way. Wouldn't Sundays Manchester show have
been more convenient?
I thought about it but never got round to getting tickets.
We're of there shortly having prebooked parking in Marble Arch.
I see your pre-booked parking, and raise you two free nights in the
Radisson Portman, just 5 minutes walk from Hyde Park.

There some cracking bands in the line up and the weather's perfect.

Motorhead, Queens Of The Stone Age, Angels And Airwaves, Juliette & The
Licks
Caught the end of J&TL as we were queueing to get in - seemed pretty
good.

A&A? Bland, pretentious rubbish.

QotSA: enjoyable enough, but certainly not at their best. Sound was
rubbish where we were stood, and very quiet. And Josh Homme's hair?
Looked like a poor-quality Elvis impersonator.

Motorhead did themselves proud, I thought. But Lemmy's bald patch is
getting much more noticeable.
I know, I know... mind, I saw Ted Nugent a couple of weeks ago, who's
only a few years younger, and he looks in *much* better shape. No
surprise there, though.

As for the Foo Fighters... well, they were good and tight, but despite
having the advantage of all the lights, video screens, lasers, etc., I
thought they were lacking a certain /je ne sais quois/. And as for
Ah. I was getting bored, so I was glad it wasn't any longer.

wheeling those old fogies on for the encore... is there anybody that
hasn't done that? Highlight was Lemmy coming on to sing Probot's "Shake
Your Blood".

Won't be going to Hyde Park again, unless we feel it's worth paying for
the "inner circle" tickets. We got ourselves up to the barrier: all the
hassle of being near the front, without being anywhere near the band.
Mrs Eddie had fun, grabbing some bloke by the neck when she got fed up
with being battered...
Heh. I can just imagine the bloke's expression after being the
recipient of a geordie lesson in manners from C :-)
