Motorcycle Rental and Things to do in Rhodes?
|
Hey all,
Not been on here for a while, but I've decided to come back an use you
for the sluts you are.
Going to Rhodes with my girlfriend for my 21st next week, and I was thinking
of hiring a bike while we are over there, much to her disgust, but I'm
having trouble getting any info on prices. Just after something like a dr250
to get around on, nothing too exciting.
Anyone got any ideas how much it would cost for a days hire, and any
suggestions of where to visit/avoid?

Go down to Lardos, seek out Vicky and Andy[1] say hello to them from her cousin
in San Diego, go for a drink on the market square and enjoy yourself.
[1] Everybody there will know them, don't worry.

No idea about the bike hire but check your holiday insurance gives you
medical cover on something over 125cc. Many policies, inc. the "free" one
my bank gives with a current account package don't.

Dirt cheap. That's all I remember. Just pop into any one of a hundred
rental places. Oh, helmets are not obligatory either.
Watch out, as they can be a bit dodgy at times, mechanically speaking.
The other thing to be aware of is that a lot of the time, whether you
have a bike licence or not, the rental places won't ask for proof. I
don't know what the insurance is like, so you may be best taking some
out in the UK.
Watch out for the other two wheelers as well as there are loads that
haven't got a fscking clue how to ride on two wheels ('cos of the
above). You may be better off getting a scooter as you have a bit more
protection and generally you have the underseat storage space. I don't
remember any bikes with top cases.
Rhodes isn't that big, but having transport is handy. The butterfly
garden is nice to see. Actually, they're moths, but brightly coloured
moths.

25 euros per day discounted for 3 day hire
mostly 125's nothing very big available this June when I was there
Butterfly Valley was empty, moer crabs than moths
but apparently later in season its great so we missed it :-(
have fun!

Visit Symi. Can be done as a day-trip but more fun to stay a night or two!
