Not wanting to tempt fate but....
... after seeing the bbc weathercast of doom and wet stuff earlier, I was
plesently surprised to see :
Oh, now you've done it. FFS. It'll be your fault, especially if I get
soaked on Friday.
Apols, I didn't want to say "yey, sunny weekend etc and gubbins".
I'll just send you the bill for my trench-foot treatment.
Pack your camping mugs as the kettle and stove with a huge selection of
coffee and tea's from the hotels of the world are residing in the back of
the cage now.
You star. We can now sling the Trangia out of the bag and forget about
any incidents involving 'hot re-fuelling'.
No probs, tis only one of those single burner affairs that sits atop a
cannister, but I'll bring an extra can to be safe.
Unpack it again. I'm meeting Brownz at 7 to hand over a two-ring stove
and a propane barbie. It's only a 1 litre kettle so I've chucked in a
decent sized pot for additional water boiling duties.
Sorted,
Anyone got one of those collapsable water container thingies that could be
strapped on to a bike, and then xferd to my cage after filling it at l'
What I usually do is get half a dozen 2l bottles of water from the local
supermarket for about 50p. It's not the wilderness, there's shops,
restaurants, cafés etc down the road a bit.

Considers unpacking some of the snacks from panniers, but can't be=20
arsed.

Snacks are good - devoured snacks = space for vin etc

hotel ?
Packed one - not sure what capacity it is.
If not I'll find an Argos / touchwoods etc on the way down in the morn.
eww, put them back on please .... its early.
Don't you see what you've done to us here?
If you've still got space then I can throw in a proper dual burner stove
and little propane bottle.
There's plenty of space, it may only be a mini, but with the seats folded
down you could fit a small herd of wilderbeast in the back of it.
You're not to far from me iirc ?
Have you got a slightly bigger camping kettle than mine - mine is putting
the camp back into camping if you know what I mean.
I'm sure people would appreciate a hot beverage supply, especially on Sunday
morning !!

Emailed to the addy on your website.

You're not tunnelling, then?
Nope, on the P&O paddlewheel that leaves at 13.00hrs.
I had a minor panic yesterday when I realised that the espresso pot was
too small for the supports on the Trangia, but a bit of improvisation
with some thick steel wire soon sorted that problem.
Excellent, are you bringing Biscotti as well ?
I think they might get a bit soggy.
And if anybody wants milk in their coffee, they can bring their own.
Anyone wanting to chuck stuff in my motah - drop me a mail - Monz ?
I'm on the P&O 13.00hrs Dover to Calais.
I guess stopping tother side for a spot of lunch somewhere ? A25 or A26 ?
is the circuit easy to find without a map from chimay or should i do a
webby search and find one?
This is the circuit, IIRC:
Chimay itself is *just* to the south-east.
Rue de Grand Prix des Frontières is the start-finish straight, and the
circuit runs clockwise; turn right up through the two lay-bys
(chicanes); right onto Rue Thiérissart, right onto Chaussée de Mons,
then right again back to the start.
IIRC (again), because of the way the roads are closed, we took the N593
into Chimay, then the N53 back out to the circuit.

Dine on the boat. It'll be pushing 4 o'clock local by the time you land,
and it's 120 miles to the 'otel.
Thanks for remembering me mate but things have changed a bit and I'm not
going now...
Best laid plans and all that.
A bit late for lunch I would have thought, it'll be almost 4pm when you
I *always* forget that even though its a quick drive, it's still +1 hour.
OK, light snack on the big bath tub it is then.
reach Calais.
