motogp: improved aerodynamics?

seems to me these guys dont do alot in terms of designing to improve
aerodynamics. not so much the front of the fairing, but the area
behind the rider.
The rules don't really allow it. There's a bunch of stuff about the size
of the seat and how much of the rear wheel you have to be able to see.

Some day, some where, perhaps there'll be a formula that will allow full
streamliners with reclining riders like the old NSUs from the 50s. But
it's not going to be in GP.

i realize the perfect trailing aero treatment would be some sort of
extended tear-drop sort of fairing to keep the airflow clean. perhaps
they've done the tunnel testing and there just isnt enough space behind
the rider to keep the airflow neat?

i remember yamaha/roberts in the early '80s did some stuff w/ some
fairings behind the riders legs that kinda closed up the area under the
seat sub-frame and the wheel.
