Oh no, oh please no, not in midwinter

Ebay item 120070899083

I want this. It looks superb. And I can get a one-way flight up there
[snip]

Do you really want it or is this rose tinted glasses? Only asking
because a friend let me try his and it was horrible.
I had one and liked it. Not wildly fast, but an incredibly tough
engine. Electronic ignition too, which was definitely rare back then.
Surprisingly torquey and economical.

Vibrated a bit......

for about =A370 from Gatwick and then ride it down.
does look pretty tidy.

you're mad, you know that?
Not that mad, as it turned out.
Very nice. I never really liked the GT twins, but that is quite good. It=20
does need the wheels rebuilding with stainless spokes, but that's no big=20
job.

But in mid-January? Oh lordy, lordy.
It'll be fine. It's just a bit wet up here just now, the hills aren't
white yet.

I have a feeling that this is going to sell cheaply, simply because of
where it is and the time of year.

I suppose if the journey home turns into Winter Hell, I can stop at the
Black Horse or somewhere....
Excellent.. those sound nice with spannies on. :) It'll cost you a fair
amount in petrol / oil to get that down too, it would be cheaper to hire
a van when you got up there.
We're halfway down if you get stuck in a blizzard :-)
Currently at £700, which is rather expensive for an old Jap bike.
Rubbish, it's far too much to pay for some old Brit knackers maybe.
Well, left it in the end. Just too much hassle without T&T. If it had
had T&T I'd have bid. Someone got a decent GT for not much money there.
Well probably find out when they post here, asking for a few parts that
have been unobtainable for the past 25 years.
I never really understand "won't need any work for an MOT", and not
bothering to put a test on it. It puts people off.

If it's a roadworthy bike, you can sort the tax if you have the MOT and
other docs, or you can do a deal with the seller to put tax on it as part of
the deal.
Bollocks it is!
If you happen to be passing you're welcome to drop in for a cuppa &
chance to warm up - you'd be about 120 miles into your 500(ish) mile
run.
the
Ah bollox. Just noticed no t&t. Hm. It's a helluva long way to tow a
trailer.
