Decent tyres for a 97 Fireblade

Well, the Dunlop Qualifiers dont last very long do they? They where
nearly new when i got the bike & the rear is going very quickly. I use
the bike for a few long trip on the motorway for work etc.

But, i also like to get it leant over at weekend etc too.

Any ideas for lasting & grip?

The front is still good, but I would prfer to swap as a pair.
Heh. When I got the Bandit (under 3k miles) the rear (Qualifier) was
shot, and I got them to put a new one on as part of the deal. Now,
just over 1k miles later, the rear looks to have some miles left but
the front is looking distinctly bare. Like you, I always like to
keep them matching, so I think of tyres in sets of three (1F to 2R)
between changing brands. 5k for three tyres ain't very good, bearing
in mind that I like to go quick, but I am by no means a tyre-
shredder. Having said that, I have been pleased with their general
stickiness.

I'm probably going to go for the 020 replacements (021?) or the Pilot
2CTs - I've heard good things about both. Unless this thread gives
better advice, of course.
I'm sure others will recommend more esoteric tyres, but I've always
had either BT 020 (now I've got 021's on) or Dunlop D205's. Both work
well on my Blackbird, which used to do many miles a month of motorways
and country roads at speed, although I don't hang off the side or need
knee sliders etc...
