FJ1200 Tyres

IIRC someone on here has an FJ1200.

I've had four of these in the past and I hated the Pirelli tyres that
came as standard so much that I changed them at the first service. My
Dad has just given me his one as he never rides it and the b*stards in
his area keep breaking into his garages and he fears it will walk
before long. It's low mileage and still has the original Pirellis
fitted so I want to change them. I used to fit Michelin Radials but the
last one I had was years ago so what's a reasonable tyre choice for the
FJ nowadays?
I've had Michelin and Dunlop radials on my FJ - but the FJOC advice is
that the FJ was developed for x-ply, so fit x-ply, and I find the
Bridgestone BT45 to be better than the radials, especially in the wet.
The FJ was developed on teflon coated Japlops or similar, surely no ones in
their right mind would recommend not using stickier rubber?
Thanks Rob but the Michelin radials I used to fit were miles better than
the OEM fitment. I've just read a few threads on the FJOC site and the
general consensus seems to coincide with the earlier advice given by
Chris and JB - fit Avons.

Others rave about Azaros, but they are also radials.
Azaro's are the best tyres I've ever had on my K

While I have your attention, any idea what a 1990 FJ is likely to be
worth? I'll need to specify this on my insurance when I add it. I'm
guessing around £750-800, does that seem about right?
