Old Tyres - safe?

Picked up the CBR1000F today
had a good run home [1]
The rear tyre has hardly been used but is 9 years old
If I saw no cracking, I'd be happy with them after having worn them
slightly, such as a couple of hundred miles. As always, I would only
ride near the bike(and tyre)s limit at the right conditions, ie dry
roads and not too cold.

Even if you fitted the latest, grippiest tyres they could still pick up
a nail and blow out at speed.

a bridgestone thats not made anymore

Bridgestone, circa 1985. Hm.

No sign of cracking or ageing
so would it be safe to push to the higher speeds the
bike is capable of?
heh,, great choice of bike mate ! What colour is it ?
Mainly, White with red n blue
same as WC's bike
I wouldn't be worried about the age of the tyre as far as cracking
goes, I might be concerned about the age of the tyre purely because of
the 9 year old technology iyswim.
NO.
The tyre will explode, you will crash and die.

[1] 50 miles of fresh fuel should help
as its been stood for 2 years
