Touring tyres
|
Oh font, what does one recommend for touring? I have BT020s on the
Sprint ATM, but frankly, although I liked them on the Speed Triple, they
seem a bit twitchy on the Sprint, especially in the wet :(
So, for mostly boring motorway with some suburban stuff, nice and long
lasting, what do I go for?
|
This is my typical ride and I got Pilot Road. Good grip, above average
in the wet, and very long lasting.
|
2 votes for pilots then, TY

Just got a BT 021 fitted to the back end of my fazer and it feels much
nicer than the old 020 did.
|
Obviously, the old 020 wasn't replaced because you liked the look of the
new 021 and had money burning a hole in your pocket, it was because the
old 020 was shagged. Any new tyre feels better than a shagged one.

Loz suggested Avon Azaro III's (which I got) and they've been perect for the
intended job. They've dropped them ow though and brought out the replacement
which are supposed to be grippier AND longer lasting.
|
Just got some (Storm) for the XJR... I'll let you know
|
The Azaro's have done over 7000 miles and they're still going strong on the
Zed btw.
|
You've got more than 7000 miles on a rear tyre on a Zed thou???
|
Others don't rate them, but they ride pure sports bikes and they ride a bit
quicker than me, so maybe they're not suited to a pure sprotbike.
|
I couldn't ride a pure sportsbike if my life depended on it, so no biggy
there, thanks for the feedback
|
Thank Lozzo, not me, I just did what you did and asked and he recommended
them based on how he guessed I ride. He was bob on too.
|
And then you provided feedback based on your experience, which is what I
was looking for :)
|
I realise it's not what ukrm is well known for, but I took the chance that
I'd get flamed for offering my experience as anecdotal evidence and I think
I got away with it :)
