Flat

I only had a limited amount of time available for the 9R over the
weekend due to other commitments but Saturday afternoon was earmarked
for a quick blat to get rid of the cobwebs and annoy some of the
all-year-round bikers[1] by riding incompetently and slowly.

I was also hoping to get to a couple of dealers with a view to
escalating the plan of getting something new.

Anyway, it didn't happen since the rear tyre was as flat as the
battery.[2][3].

I have a pair of Dragon Evos on it currently and I think they're are
now "old technology" and discontinued. I usually replace tyres as a
pair and go for "round & black" ones but this time I'm only going to
replace the rear as the front has plenty of life in it.
So what should I match the front with? Another Pirelli, obviously but
what is the latest equivalent? I quess it's the Diablo Strada.

I have had the battery on the Optimate since Saturday but am not
convinced that it will hold a charge anymore so probably need a new
one. I have the opportunity to get one on the way home from work this
afternoon but forgot to check the power or make & model of the current
one. Anyone know what it needs (ZX-9R C1) as my next opportunity won't
be until the weekend.

[2] My neighbour unplugged the Optimate to use the lawn mower and
didn't plug it back in when he had finished. I shall "have words".
[3] The tyre was plugged last year and sitting in the garage hasn't
done it any good at all.
