Tyre Pressure Moniters

Has anyone purchased one of these units for their bike and if so what is
your opinion of the units.

I am considering fitting it to my outfit (front & back tyres only).
I met a bloke weekend before last who had had his front tyre deflate
just before tipping into turn 1 at Phillip Island. It seems that at
rather high speed, (as is sometimes found near the end of the main
straight) centripetal acceleration of the valve had caused the valve
spring to compress, releasing the 80% Nitrogen contents of the front
tyre into the atmosphere.

It seems he managed to keep it upright.

I imagine such a gizmo might be useful.
I was thinking about it on my sidecar as it has car tyres on it and the
lateral forces on the tyres can be huge (rolling a tyre off the rim is a
real possibility if it has a slow leak).
If it steers anything like mine I wouldn't bother, John. There's heaps of
feel and I've had no probs getting home with slow leaks that needed two
stops per tank.
