Hammonds crash on BBC2 Sunday

8pm, just to let you know. Oh, & Top Gear is also back on.
Urrr, nine, innit? I am rather looking forward to this, being a bit of a
8pm it says on me digibox Alison.

sad Top Gear fan.
Yep, yer right.
First time on this NG!!
How quaint.
But reliable ... except they did not have the Hatton fight listed which
is being shown before re cricket highlights (which are on later than
advertised) on BBC2 tonight instead of Family Guy.
And repeated on Wednesday at 7pm for those who missed it
UK Nova fans can already download the show. They are QUICK on there!
:)
My TiVo grabbed it as it was being shown. How quick is that!!
In the Independent yesterday, the owner of 'that car' blamed
Hammond for the crash.
well, he would say that, wouldn't he, because if it wasn't Hammond's
fault, it was the car's...
I wonder who wandered round it and "kicked the tyres" before the last
run? There presumably was no sign of any blistering or other visual
indication that a tyre was starting to fail.
If you look at the middle clip the tyre does appear to be coming
apart. One would have thought that they would have picked that up
before the pre-ride checks, unless they were in a rush, of course.

He said Hammond carried on driving after the tyre blew.

He might have a point, even Hammond said it was 0.4 seconds
between the tyre blowing and the tumble in the grass.
Yes, well, the owner of that car is a dickhead. I did love Hamster's
reaction after the second run at 314 mph.
Blimey, you are useful after all!

Thanks for the reminder. It's the only TV program I watch - if it
wasn't for top gear I'd have taken the TV card out of my PC some time
ago.
No problem, i know JC hates bikes, but Hammond is a biker & so is the
one with the girly hair.
And why on earth would he do that?
To prove that his dislike of motorcycles remains fully intact despite
having learnt how to ride one? Hardly a new concept for television if
you substitute just about any other activity / thing for motorcycles.
Maybe, but I really can't see Clarkson doing that, even if it would,
as you say, make good TV. He likes to stick to his prejudices, I
reckon.
Oh sure. I can't see him doing it either - more's the pity. Even if he
did do it - and I reckon Mr Hammond could do the old emotional blackmail
bit, to "persuade" JC to try, very well at the moment - I don't think Mr
C would change his mind either. Shame as it'd probably make great comic
television.
In the Clarkson Hates Bikes article in BIKE last summer Hammond and
May both said they didn't want to do any bike stuff on Topgear. They'd
rather keep it as it is, about cars, and leave bikes as a more
'underground' hobby, or something along those lines.

Moreover, Hammond said he wants no more mention of his crash on the
programme, and rightly so. It would be rather sad and embaressing to
milk it. The feature they did on it last night was thoroughly British,
funny and moving, in places. Leave it there they should, hmmm.
Yeah, I know what you mean. When I'm looking to watch a programme about
cars, I'll only watch ones where at least 2/3 of the presenting team are
bikers. Similarly, I only watch current affairs programmes where I know
at least 75% of the presenters have demonstrated their skills on a
unicycle.
