Petrol tanks (again...)

So, roughly how many arms and legs will I need to pay to a breaker to
get a replacement petrol tank for 13-year-old bike?

And how many more limbs will he want for one whose underneath doesn't
resemble a sieve?

(Note to self: if your wife tends to leave her bike standing for long
periods of time, make sure it's got a decent amount of fuel in the tank.
Pah.)
What bike are we talking about? Tanks for bikes as young as 13 years
A GSXF, iirc.

old are unlikely to be rotten, IMHO. In fact, 13 years is an ideal age
I bet it's a Kawasaki Zephyr.

for sourcing a used tank - it's not new enough to be really pricey, and
it's not old enough to be counted as an unobtainable classic part.
As Pip said, a GSX600F. What sort of ballpark are we looking at here?
Would it be unkind to point out that a petrol tank is totally redundant
on Mrs. Eddie's bike?

Couldn't you just fill the carbs every time you want to take it round
the block?

On a side note: there are very few people on here that could use the
phrase "bikes as young as 13 years old" and get away with it. This isn't
I'd be very surprised if it was more than =A350 for a decent one.
Ta. I'll give them a separate call when I do the parts search.

I normally use a couple of the free online parts search services, which
I've had good results from in the past.

Blimey. =A38.50 for a sound one that just needs repainting. There you
go, then. Cheap!

ukrmc, you know...
heh. TOG's still all classic'd up from his trip to Chimay.
