1987 k75c not starting

I have a problem with my 1987 k75c. It was working perfectly up until
a few days ago, when I did two things.

1) changed battery
2) added coolant to the reserve coolant tank. filled it up to "max"
line.

the day I made these changes, I took it for a 2 hour spin in the
mountains. everything seemed fine.

I let the bike sit for about 3 or 4 days, and went to start her up.
the lights came on, and the dashboard lights came on. I did notice the
engine-overheating yellow light was now on for some reason. I had
never seen that one come on before.

When I pressed the starter button, I got good compression, good
starter-engagement, but no engine fire-up.

I'm wondering what I did wrong to the bike. If anyone has any
suggestions I greatly appreciate it!!!
Does that bike have a pet cock?
