Oldest bike I've seen on the road for a while

An old T reg Honda CX500 travelling down the A4 to Hammersmith, looked
like it was a courier riding it, sounded in pretty good order if a bit
shabby.
T reg? T REG?!

Bleedin' modern stuff...... I mean, it's water-cooled an' it's got twin
My Triumph's a T reg. It's got both of those, and fuel injection.
But is that /new/ T or /old/ T

front discs.
On my daily commute down the A14/A1303 I occasionally pass a chap
on... on... I don't know what it is, TBH: it's some sort of twin shock
sports single, with low bars, rearsets and a silver-on-black six
character numberplate.

Can't see the tank sides easily for a more positive ID 'cos of the
rider's elbows.

Oh, the fuel tank's red. There: that should help identify it.
You probably see older Honda Cub step-throughs every day, you just don't
realise it because... they're Honda Cubs.
