I sat on a Z1000 today
I didn't bother asking to ride it.
Didn't like the riding position?
Neither did I, first thing I thought was "need to mod this". Second
thought was "if I need to mod it may as well start with the ZX10-R"
It was awful, all shoved forward onto the tank and it felt like I was
sitting with the clocks between my bollocks. It's also got a seat like a
plank and it's too tall. Not what I'm looking for at all.
Now, as has been revealed in UKRM, the FZR1000 was uprated and given the
150bhp engine, might be worth trying an 05vintage. Even if the pegs are
still a bit high WUN could lower them I'm sure.
I tried Graham's out for size, it's way too tall. I tried another in a
bike dealers and had the same problem.
Natural progression to that B12.
It's looking more and more like Suzuki will be getting my business, if I
don't like the Daytona 955i
I will be buying a new one if I buy one at all.
A friend in need is a friend indeed, and the man needs a triple.
Have a heart, even if it's a dicky ticker.
Really? there are plenty minted late B12's around with the prices
pre-disastered and as TOG keeps saying, it's a buyers market.
I just fancy owning a new one and at the price they are it'd be rude not
to.

I tried Adies bike on a FOT. I love the engine, my 595 was a doozy
apart from the ignition faults. The brakes are wonderful. The handling
is excellent without being supersports. They look wonderful. Sadly they
lack USD forks and I like the look of those.
OTOH I found it a long stretch to the bars and (for me) little wind
protection.
They look great naked. Put the bodywork away safely. Adjustable flat
bars and a good flyscreen or touring screen. A very tempting prospect. I
like the new speed triple all the way back to the pillion seat where it
all gets a bit cut off and unfinished looking. The last model Speed
tripple is arguably better looking.

Look Sr.Tony will you stop frogging ;)
Fair play, mate.
You don't want to go back to those nasty Kawasawasakaskasis, now
you've seen the light, eh?
He could sit on mine [1] but he's already admitted to disliking
powerful bikes ;-)
P.
[1] Steady ....

So what didn't you like about it Loz? That seat perchance?
Everything about the way it felt. It was just wrong.
in case it helps, I've gone off them too.
Exactly how I felt about the X11 (forgetting its looks for a moment)
when I was shopping in 99.
Climbed on, said "no", and got off.
Then I sat on a Blackbird.
Ten minutes later, I'd bought it.
Innit odd that two (apparently normal) blokes can sit on the same bike and
have a totally different experience?. I sat on one and knew it was the bike
for me and now, after 12 months of living with it, I still feel the same.
Mined ewe, it wouldn't do for us all to like the same bikes now would it?
Any decision made on which bike you'll plump for yet?
Not yet, just about to leave here and go try a contender. I'll give a
mini-review later.
So when are you picking it up then?
