Top box security

I finally got round to buying one for the bike, and was wondering what
those of you who have them do about their security.

Do you take extra precautions or trust to the existing locking
mechanisms?
We don't leave anything on the bike we can't manage without.
FFS, if someone wants to break into a topbox, it's not going to take
dynamite or an oxy-acetylene torch.

It's for keeping stuff out of sight. It's not a Chubb safe deposit box.
Valuables: Camera et, etc go in the tank bag and come with when off
bike.

Spare clothers, tattered spare shreddies, T-shirts, spare bunjees low
value stuff go in the tail-pack and is bunjeed to the pillion, no too
much heartache if it goes walkies.

Other stuff goes in the top box. Most useful as a helmet store when
parked up and for a rucksak instead of a tankbag being used for
valuables when on the move.
That was what we'd considered. We'll use the top box for taking
flasks, portable barbies etc and leave the helmets and jackets in it
when we wander off for a while.
I've been using Givi products for 11 years. Always trusted their locks and
baseplate securing method for keeping the contents in the box.

I have no confidence in the locks from a security point of view. Someone
equipped with a blowtorch, power tool or big hammer could easily open the
box in a few seconds.
