She Lives !

Got the ol' bike back together last night , and it now rolls under it's own
power once again . Got a bit of adjusting to do on the shift and clutch rods
, but that's gonna be easy compared to what I've done so far . I did notice
a slight (lower speeds only) deceleration whine from the tranny , all gears
and it's not loud . I think it must be the new gears , and it should go away
when I get a few miles on it .
I plan on watching the plugs real close for a while , S&S sez it's not
uncommon to need a rejet , these heads flow better than stock . Haven't
really cranked on it yet , gotta let all those new bits get used to each
other's company before I ask for some all-out effort .
It's time to ride ... been three weeks today since the trans exploded
(it only *seems* like 3 years !) . I doubt it would have gone any faster if
a shop had done the work , they'd have had to wait for parts the same as me
|
Stop talking sense and just take this drink off my hands!
... wait , lets leave enough for a "jump drive" thingy so I
|
. Plus they would not have had the intense focus on *my* bike like I did .
Shirley my wife's debit card is still in my wallet , lets party until her
account is empty ... wait , lets leave enough for a "jump drive" thingy so I
can download my pics into the computer . Y'all *do* wanna see the latest set

Just so long as posting them doesn't cut into the time you need to spend
breaking in the new hardware.
|
, doncha ?
|
Of course!
Glad she's rollin' again. 'Specially with that new flame job ya got to
show off.

Actually , your flames make mine look like a 5 year old did them . But
thanks anyway !
|
I dunno 'bout that. They were pretty decent, and the finish was like a
pro did it. I was impressed, actually. Maybe we oughta start a paint
business somewhere when we retire. "Snag and Stinkie Motorcycle
Painting."
On second thought, with a name like that I doubt we'd get a single
customer in the door.

Hell I'd let the two of you paint one of my bikes. Take a plain bike and
paint a bunch of smashed bugs, and dirt on it. Think of it. I could ride
around the country to the different rallys, on an expense account naturally,
and promote your work to the posers. "Look like you just rode 1000 miles
with the patented Snag & Stinkie bug and dirt paint scheme." Let me know
when you open the shop & I'll be the hardest working employee you've got.
