68 ironhead trans problem

Transmission is kicking in and out of gear in second.1st..3rd..and 4th
are all good.Any ideas???I have the trans on the bench and see no
visible problems.
Buzzurd
When it slips out under power it's usually the dogs on the gears are
slightly tapered in the wrong direction. They should slope very slightly in
the direction that pulls them together versus pushing them apart. Look
carefully at a matching set of new gears and compare them to yours.
Corners crisp and sharp on the shift dog and the gear where it engages ?
Shifter fork straight ? Is the fork properly shimmed (I assume they're
similar to 4 spd BT forks , shimmed to center the fork) ? Shifter cam or
drum worn ?
I fixed it this time, but please don't top post.

I'm thinking the recesses on the gear where the shift dogs engage it
are worn out. I'd say the bike's been ridden a lot with a
mis-adjusted clutch that wouldn't fully disengage.
