Got the tranny today . It's in great shape , if you only want 1st and 2nd
...
Seriously , the 1st and 2nd gears are like brand new , barely polished and
you can still see milling marks on them - they look like they may be Andrews
gears , they're back cut on the dogs , and the dogs on 2nd are sloped on the
back side to help ease it into engagement . I'm replacing the 3-4 shift
clutch , since the gears are new . The mainshaft is about the same runout
as the one I had (within the build standard Andrews uses) , but in better
shape where the main drive gear rides , so I'm going to use it . The case is
good , just a bit chewed where a chain was run too loose .
I just finished ordering parts , and decided to stick with the late style
caged rollers . What can I say , I'm lazy .Since Ben saved me a buncha cash
, lets all have a round from the top shelf .
