Exhaust blowing

Came home on the bike last night and noticed that the exhaust section
of the system was wobbling and it seems that it is loose at the
(heavily rusted) join between the downpipes and the exhaust. I've
still to get a good look at it as I was late home yesterday, but
assuming that it isn't just a case of re-tightening the bracket at the
join is there any sort of "stuff" I can put round the join to seal it
in the short term.
Exhaust paste, about a fiver from Halfords

Just need a temporary fix until I can get the thing up to the garage
and replace the exhaust.
Halfords exhaust repair stuff ... the metal tape is very good, but can tear
easily when wrapping it round. Lockwiring over also helps.
Many thanks Paul and Vass, will stop into Halfords later today ...
need to look at iPod compatible ICE anyway .... I wonder if the
girlfriend would buy the story of the exhaust tape coming with a free
car stereo.
Wish I'd had some on the Chimay run last year.......
