Winter Hack
|
Now is obviously the time to buy my winter hack judging by the volume of
bikes on Ebay.
Question is what to buy? Doesn't need to be fast but does need to be
reliable (and cheap if the 2 aren't mutually exclusive) for a 65 mile round
trip each day.I'm thinking of GT550 or similar - what do the winter riders
|
Why not just use the GS in your sig?
|
'snot the bike for me - I'm a shortarse and although I rode it through the
winter when I dropped it in the snow it took me 10 minutes to pick it up
followed by a 20 minute fag break to calm down. Feckin heavy it is....
Something more pick-upabble is required - or stabilisers.
|
Sell it to someone who will use it, then. You should get a decent price as
they are a) scarce and b) sought after
|
Yep - that's stage 2 of the plan.

on here swear by?
|
a silver and black ZX-7R is what you want, mate.
|
if you like spending money on new exhaust systems.
|
it's got a perfectly fine full stainless/titanium exhaust system.
Albeit, not a road-legal one.

Last time I rode all year around, I had a Yamaha Diversion 600. Comfy,
cheap to buy, even cheaper to run (£20 quid for a chain, ffs), mine
reached over 70k miles before I sold it.
However, if I were doing it again, I'd get a Diversion 900 for the shaft
drive.
