Custom made downpipes.

Out riding the GPZ550 yesterday, I decided I really quite liked the
little thing. It handles sweetly[1][2], and has what I can only
describe as a pleasant perky air to it, perfect for short back lane
scenic routes. It also seems to need large lean angles for a given
corner, which makes one feel like a real hero when going up the inside
of badly driven BMW M3s on roundabouts.
"told you so"
You did.

Anyway, all this means my plans to buy a cheap hack and run it into the
ground over the next 18 months is utterly scuppered[3]. So, I'll need a
new exhaust system for it - replica end cans are no problem, and those
Menora style collector boxes are fairly common. What I can't find are
any headers.

I can find those hideous 4-1 motad systems, but all I want is 4 bent
bits of pipe in two lengths that can be fixed to the exhaust ports at
one end and the collector at the other. Making them sounds like it
should be a 10 minute job for someone with the right machine, but who
does that sort of stuff (preferably within 100 miles or so of Reading)?
Call Mark Hill at MHP Exhausts : 01483 473473
Aha, just up the road in Woking too, I'll give him a call, cheers.

[1] now I've scrubbed off the outer layer of carbonised rubber from the

tyres.

[2] much better than, say, the last ER5 I rode, and positively
Premiership to the GSX1100s Conference.

[3] it was most of the way there when I put the K&Ns on to be honest,
it
just looked so good...
