SOBs, MOTs and silencers.

Does anyone remember how old an SOB has to be for it to
be legal (or pass an MOT) with an unmarked silencer?
Does it go by date of manufacture or first registration?
Dunno. The correct web-search key word combination is sure to reach a
suitable resource though.

I found loads of useful stuff on MVC&U regs and the like when I was
researching the MSVA test for the Tart. What I do know, is that if a
vehicle was first registered more than three years ago, even in another
country (definitely if EEC not sure about others) it is subject to an
MoT. Don't get me started on the rules about what constitutes a 'new'
vehicle for Customs purposes.

I must try to keep away from eBay....
This might help:
Thanks. So 1/1/85 is the key date.
Luckily I have a frame and V5 for a similar SOB from an earlier year.
