GORE: CIGARETTE SMOKING 'SIGNIFICANT' CONTRIBUTOR TO GLOBAL WARMING
Fri Sep 29 2006 09:04:05 ET

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore warned hundreds of U.N. diplomats and
staff on Thursday evening about the perils of climate change, claiming:
Cigarette smoking is a "significant contributor to global warming!"

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa this guy is a whack job. I'm not a smoker, never have
been but come on.

Rex McKinney
Man, you didn't beat me to posting this by much!

I'm *assuming* he doesn't mean just the smoking, but all the production
of tobacco.
But still, sheeeeit he's over the top!

To round this out fact-wise, a large quantity of natural gas *is* used
to produce tobacco- instead of naturally curing it, tobacco is placed
into a large enclosure and the enclosure is flooded with the exhaust of
burning natural gas.
Is this use of NG even in the top 100 consumption-wise? I dunno.

But I can tell you some of the most potent carcinogens in tobacco
(nitrosamines) are actually formed in tobacco because of this curing
process.
