Utterly Inevitable

After 3 days of torrential rain in Yorkshire the weather clears up, blue
skies reappear, birds sing.
I head off to site in leather jacket and 501's, taking the scenic route.
It's only a few miles.
Mug.

Dark clouds gather with unatural haste, black crows flock on the horizon.
With a crack of thunder the heavens opened, monsoon rain, streets turn into
rivers within seconds.#

It took me 2 minutes to pull over and pull waterproofs on by which time
every stitch of clothing was soaked through.
Torrential rain does that, yes it does.

None of that prepared me for the full lane wide 50 yard long diesel slick
cunningly hidden under the raging torrent that was a road.

I'm heading out onto a construction site soon. Disaster is inevitable.
You strike me as a man in sore need of an outfit.
Is this a cue for Molly to suggest something in lurid pink PVC?
And Vaseline, obviously, to help him slide into something 2 sizes too tight.
Oh, that was last night...
You're a sick sick puppy and no mistake!

I took an early 1000cc BSA V-twin with Watsonian type chair to a rally once.
Quite good fun.
What I really want is a Quasar type thing with a GSXR1000 engine.
